Untreated or adriamycin (ADR)-treated 1A9 human ovarian cancer, A498 human renal cancer and A549 human lung cancer cells were processed for double immunofluorescence labelling with antibodies against p53 (red, labelled with Texas Red) or a-tubulin (green, labelled with FITC). Staining was analysed by confocal laser-scanning microscopy. Co-localization of p53 and tubulin is visible as yellow staining generated where the color images merge. In untreated cells, the p53 staining alone is predominantly cytoplasmic and has a pattern similar to that of tubulin staining alone. (Giannakakou P, et al. 2000 Nature Cell Biology. 2:709-717.) |
