Automated microplate sampler (AMS).

Our FACSCalibur is currently equipped with an automated microplate sampler (AMS) from Cytek Development.  This device uses a robotic platform and specialized sample probe to transfer samples directly from a 96-well microtiter plate for flow cytometric analysis.  The device can provide adjustable sample boost and mixing, and both internal and external probe washing to ensure rapid sample analysis and minimal carryover.  We can configure the AMS with other flow cytometers if necessary.  The AMS now uses an AppleScript computer interface to control sample acquisition, replacing the old mouse control system.
