Aerosol containment system for the FACSVantage DiVa.

Our FACSVantage DiVa is now equipped with an aerosol containment system from Cytek Development.  This system consists of a molded hood mounted over front of the FACSVantage, containing the sample port, nozzle, stream deflection plates and sort collection tube holder.  The hood is maintained under negative pressure using a vacuum blower system, maintaining an air stream of 150 feet per second, with the outflow cleaned through a HEPA filter.  This system effectively contains aerosols generated during sorting, greatly inproving biosafety for the operator.
