Flow cytometry protocols.
This page contains protocols provided by the Telford Lab or by users of our facility.
Protocols are provided both as HTML pages and in Acrobat PDF file format; you will
need Acrobat Reader to view the PDF files.
- Fluorochrome conjugation by amine modification.
This is our basic technique for attaching fluorochromes to antibodies and other
proteins via amine modification.
HTML or
Acrobat PDF format
- Hapten-anti-hapten labeling. Hapten-anti-hapten
multiple-step labeling techniques can provide increased sensitivity with reduced
background.
HTML or
Acrobat PDF format.
- Cell cycle and apoptosis analysis using DNA binding
dyes.
HTML or Acrobat PDF format.
- Detection of calcium flux with indo-1. Shows
our indo-1 optical bench configuration and setup.
HTML or
Acrobat PDF
format.
- Immunolabeling of stable cell nuclei by flow
cytometry. Stabilized cell nuclei can be extracted and
immunolabeled for components of the NFkB transcription factor complex, chaperonins and
other proteins that can localize to the nucleus.
HTML or
Acrobat PDF format.
- CFDA-SE for cell tracking and cell cycle
analysis.
HTML or
In Acrobat PDF format.
- Cell death analysis using PhiPhiLux caspase 3
substrate and annexin V.

Additional information on laboratory projects can be found on our Projects page. Additional information on fluorescent
reagents can be found on our Reagents page. A
consolidated list of fluorescent reagent excitation/emission spectra can be found on our Spectra page; these spectra are also available on informational
pages referring specifically to the reagent.
